Product Description:
Tamoxifen is used to treat breast cancer. It is also used to reduce the chances of breast cancer in high-risk patients. This drug can block the growth of breast cancer.
· HOW IT WORKS:
Tamoxifen is part of a drug class called antiestrogens. Antiestrogens function by suppressing the hormone estrogen production of the body. Estrogen can lead to the development of certain types of breast tumors. Tamoxifen can inhibit the growth of tumors that react to estrogen.
· BENEFITS:
It is used to treat women and men with hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer in the early stages following surgery (or likely chemotherapy and radiation) to reduce the risk of (recurring) women and men with testosterone-receptor-positive advanced stage or metastatic disease
· USAGE:
Take this medication with or without meal, usually 1 to 2 times daily for 5 years, or as directed by your doctor. Always consult a doctor before taking this prescription.
· DOSAGE:
The typical recommended dosage for 5 years is 25–40 mg daily in one or divided doses. If you take more than 30 mg per day, take half of a drug in the morning and half at night.
· SIDE-EFFECTS:
Common side-effects include headache, vaginal discharge, sudden chest pain, shortness of breath, and sleeping disorder.
