The injection of Cerebrolysin is a prescribed drug for neurological conditions, cranial fractures, Alzheimer's disease, and multiple forms of dementia. For use in patients with epilepsy and patients with severe renal impairment, this drug is not recommended.
HOW IT WORKS:
Cerebrolysin injection works by enhancing nerve cell activity and preventing cell death and brain inflammation. Cerebrolysin Injection is medicine for nerve repair. This operates on the brain by restoring and increasing the survival of the nerve cells.
For patients with a low degree of Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia, cerebrolysin has an overall beneficial effect on cognitive function. Cerebrolysin is also prescribed for stroke and brain injury.
Peptides such as those contained in cerebrolysine are generally broken down in the intestine without ever touching the body or brain and are thus injected. In clinical studies, intravenous doses of 30 ml/day for 4 weeks have shown some positive results and higher doses may be less effective. Sometimes, cerebrolysin can be taken orally.
The prescription of Cerebrolysin is between 5 and 60 ml per day. It is prescribed that the administration is done by infusion with an infusion duration of 20 minutes.
The side-effects incorporate headache, stroke, hot flashes, chest pain, nausea and, vertigo.
