Genotropin is the recombinant human growth hormone that contains somatropin supplied by SLIMCAT, used exclusively by athletes & clinically for the treatment of growth failure among children and adults. This drug is closely alike the very important human endogenous hormone (somatropin) produced by the anterior part of the pituitary gland that stimulates growth.
Genotropin Description
Genotropin is available as an injection which has two chamber cartridges having powder and dilute solution. Genotropin is mixed using the Pfizer device. It contains a meta-Cresol and active substance somatropin (Hgh) that prompts growth endurance, energy deficiency & antiaging. It can be observed in its peak values during childhood and adolescence. Medically it is used in the treatment of child and adult hGH deficiency. Genotropin inactive substances include glycoine, sodium phosphate, mannitol, and water. The Deficiency of somatotropin protein can cause many types of disorders like Turner Syndrome and Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) in both children and adults.

Clinical Use of Genotropin
For children, this drug is used for the treatment of growth failure (Turner Syndrome) due to limited production of growth hormone (GH). These children are small by birth or fail to grab normal growth by the age of 2 years.
For an adult, this drug will be prescribed by the doctor in case of pituitary or hypothalamic disease caused by the lake of somatotropin hormones alone or with the combination of some other hormones.
Recommended Dosage
For children, it's totally up to the doctor because he will test the growth rate and recommend medicine accordingly.
The initial dose of Genotropin will depend on the deficiency.
A dose of 0.16 to 0.24mg/kg body weight daily for the week is recommended for pediatric growth hormones deficiency (GHD).
It will be injected subcutaneously by trained staff. Time spam may increase for intervals of 4 to 8 weeks. The quantity could also be changed by the doctor as per the patient’s condition.
A weekly dose of Genotropin should be divided into 6 or 7 injections.
Before starting this dose visit your doctor for prescription according to your body. Patients should receive training from their physicians for the proper use of Genotropin.
Storage and Precautions
Store medicines between 36° to 46°F (Avoid freezing). After mixing you can store it into the freezer for 28 days.
Protect from light & heat as light can destroy the solution of medicine.
Do not shake; it may transform the active ingredient.
An Allergic reaction may occur if used with any protein. Patients should consult a physician.
Tissues atrophy may appear after the use of somatropin so, avoid using injection on the same side for a longer time.
